The Clifford W. Beers Guidance Clinic is a 105-year-old nonprofit that provides mental and behavioral health services to more than 5,500 children and 1,000 family members annually throughout Greater New Haven, Connecticut. A merger with Mid-Fairfield Child Guidance Center allowed the two organizations to expand geographically and build scale, strengthen infrastructure and financial stability, and provided a model for several other child services organizations to begin merger conversations with the newly-combined nonprofit. A portion of the costs associated with the merger was funded by a grant from The SeaChange-Lodestar Fund for Nonprofit Collaboration.
