TheatreLAB creates unique theatrical productions that facilitate exchange of ideas between artists and the audience. The Conciliation Project (“TCP”) promotes open and honest dialogue about racism and oppression in America through dramatic performances. TCP’s Founder and Executive Director moved to Richmond, VA and began discussing a merger. By entering into a collaboration, TCP gains a permanent home in Richmond within an established local organization, and TheatreLAB gains a stronger focus on racial and social justice along with years of experience in tackling highly charged subject matter. The SeaChange-Lodestar Fund for Nonprofit Collaboration provided a grant to help fund the cost of implementation support for the merger. The resulting organization is called The Conciliation Lab.
