Teen Services Sonoma (TSS) engages and supports Sonoma teens with work readiness courses and experiences to build industry-specific and soft skills. Boys and Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley (BGCSV) offers after-school education, enrichment activities, and prevention programs to youth and teens in Sonoma Valley. In 2016, the leadership of BGCSV and TSS met in a capacity-building cohort to share resources, knowledge, and experiences. Based on their work together in the cohort, they formed a partnership to offer a full suite of career readiness and academic enrichment programming for teens, ultimately leading to the decision to merge with the goal of creating one collective resource for Sonoma Valley teens. The SeaChange-Lodestar Fund for Nonprofit Collaboration provided a grant to help cover the costs of a facilitator to assist in executing the merger.
