In furtherance of that effort, the partners established the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/seachangecap.org\/for-funders\/#panel-seachange-lodestar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">SeaChange-Lodestar Fund for Nonprofit Collaboration<\/a> to support collaborations. With the belief that collaboration can be a valuable capacity-building tool for nonprofit organizations to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability with which they pursue their missions, the SeaChange-Lodestar Fund&#8217;s mission is to encourage and support mergers, acquisitions, joint-ventures, and other types of formal, sustained collaboration among nonprofit organizations. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lodestarfoundation.org\/site\/grants\/seachange-lodestar-fund-for-nonprofit-collaboration-supports-collaborative-ventures-2\/\">Learn more.<\/a>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text css_animation=&#8221;bottom-to-top&#8221;]<\/p>\n<div class=\"title-h3\"><span class=\"light\">CANDID<\/span><\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text css_animation=&#8221;bottom-to-top&#8221;]In 2010, we entered a partnership with the <a href=\"https:\/\/candid.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Foundation Center<\/a>\u00a0(now Candid)\u00a0to create and maintain a broad-based database of nonprofit collaborations, searchable by a wide variety of categories and characteristics.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/grantspace.org\/collaboration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">The Nonprofit Collaboration Database<\/a>, which went online in June 2010 on the Foundation Center website, provides inspirational and instructive models of collaboration for the sector. The database initially was populated by applications received by the Lodestar Foundation in connection with a project to collect models pursuant to a national contest, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lodestarfoundation.org\/site\/exceptional-grants\/#1585683809275-096f355c-c86d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Collaboration Prize<\/a>. The project consists of \u00a0a variety of resources for board members to consider in conjunction with their fiduciary oversight duties.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text css_animation=&#8221;bottom-to-top&#8221;]<\/p>\n<div class=\"title-h3\"><span class=\"light\">SUSTAINED COLLABORATION NETWORK<\/span><\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text css_animation=&#8221;bottom-to-top&#8221;]Lodestar and the Fidelity Charitable Trustees\u2019 Initiative have co-funded the development of the <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainedcollab.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sustained Collaboration Network<\/a>, a network of funder collaboratives from around the country supporting sustained collaborations among nonprofits in their communities. The seed for the network was planted when we underwrote two successive annual convenings of the collaboratives to discuss how they could work together to advance knowledge about sustained collaboration. The fund\u2019s purpose is to supplement existing programs in order \u201cto enrich, enhance, and expand summer activities for children and youth.\u201d The Summer Youth Program Fund makes it easier for local nonprofits to apply for grant funding for their summer programming by requiring just one application that is then considered by more than a dozen funders.
