The Macdonald Center (now the Maybelle Center for Community) and Outreach in Burnside (OIB) shared a mission of serving the disable, mentally ill, and often addicted poor in the core area of Portland, Oregon, With the loss of OIB’s executive director, the organizations decided to merge. The Lodestar Foundation provided funding to support the merger.
