CalMatters, a nonpartisan news organization, is acquiring Digital Democracy, an online platform featuring a searchable database of California’s state and local government actions. The acquisition of the database will allow local California journalists to probe what is going on in government. The goal is to make this software available nationally, so all journalists can benefit from this resource. The Lodestar Foundation provided a grant to support the transition of the data to CalMatters’ platform.
