The Dempsey Center provides a personalized, holistic and integrated approach to cancer prevention, education and support for people with programs including counseling services, nutrition and health education, and various therapies. Similarly, the Cancer Community Center promoted the well-being of people living with cancer, their families, and their friends through psychosocial support, health and wellness programs, and expressive arts classes. The two organizations chose to merge to expand and enhance their programs and offer their clients the choice between two service locations in Maine. The SeaChange-Lodestar Fund for Nonprofit Collaboration provided a grant to help fund one-time costs of the merger.
