A cross-partisan funder convening on democracy and civic life was held in spring 2019, bringing together new and experienced funders in the field. Co-hosted by Philanthropy for Active Civic Engagement (PACE) and the Democracy Funders Network, the convening provided a forum for shared learning and to explore strategies for responding to near-term threats facing liberal democracy, as well as influencing the culture and conditions for democracy and civic life to thrive over the long-term. A challenge grant from The Lodestar Foundation provided support to produce the Summit. An additional grant was made to fund the creation of a civic engagement primer for the pro-democracy field.
