Initiative Supports Long-Term Collaborations in the Philadelphia Area

The Nonprofit Repositioning Fund (formerly the Greater Philadelphia Repositioning Initiative) is an effort to encourage and support mergers and other types of formal, long-term collaborations between nonprofit organizations in the Philadelphia area, as well as dissolution planning for individual nonprofit organizations. The Fund provides both vital technical assistance and financial support to a diverse set of nonprofit organizations as they navigate a challenging operating environment. The Fund works constructively with funders, boards, and leaders to make difficult mission-driven decisions; helps catalyze repositioning transactions; and encourages innovation and best practices in the nonprofit sector. Working together through the Fund, a critical mass of Greater Philadelphia’s leading foundations are able to encourage and support more repositionings than they could on their own. The Lodestar Foundation is a founding member of the Fund, which currently consists of eleven funders.
