Merger of International Women’s Health Organizations

International Planned Parenthood Federation – Western Hemisphere Region (IPPFWHR) works to ensure universal access to reproductive health care, eliminate violence against women and girls, provide sexual education, and advocate for reproductive justice. It is made up of twenty-five partner organizations in 20 countries across the Americas and the Caribbean that provide mobile services in rural or hard-to-reach areas, offer digital health services to reach youth, and advocate for the rights of women and girls. International Women’s Health Coalition (IWHC) advances the reproductive health and rights of women and girls worldwide through advocacy, grantmaking and technical assistance, and training for young advocates in more than 40 countries around the globe. For several years, the organizations have discussed the overlap between their work and the potential synergies that could be achieved by merging. In particular, the merger will allow IPPFWHR to increase its presence in the Global South. The SeaChange-Lodestar Fund for Nonprofit Collaboration provided a grant to help cover the transactional costs of merging.
