Southwest Solutions is a holistic neighborhood revitalization organization. Development Centers support adults and children in and around Detroit by providing behavioral health & prevention programs, housing placement services, employment readiness training, and early childhood education. The organizations have decades of collaboration and programmatic partnership work together. With the planned retirement of Development Centers’ Executive Director at the end of 2023, both boards voted to move forward with a merger to allow for a more holistic continuum of services and better positioning to receive government contract revenue. The SeaChange-Lodestar Fund for Nonprofit Collaboration provided a grant to help cover the implementation costs of this merger.
