GreatNonprofits is a web-based platform that allows donors, volunteers, clients, and others to share their experiences with a nonprofit so that prospective donors and volunteers can make informed decisions about where to expend their resources. GreatNonprofits sought funding to increase the capacity of its web-based platform to facilitate partnerships with other online nonprofit databases. Through a series of challenge grants, the Lodestar Foundation supported the expansion of GreatNonprofits to permit users to rate more than 1.2 million nonprofits on their website or those of partner sites such as GuideStar.
