Rhode Island Human Service Agencies Explore a Merger

Child and Family Rhode Island is one of the state’s largest social service agencies, helping more than 5,000 Rhode Islanders annually through a variety of a wide range of community-based services, including residential treatment programs, community and early learning centers, supportive housing, and elder services. The East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is a FQHC that provides quality, comprehensive, and accessible health and human services. After more than a decade of collaboration and program coordination, in response to changes in the state budget, Child and Family and EBCAP decided to undertake a formal merger exploration. The SeaChange-Lodestar Fund for Nonprofit Collaboration provided a grant to cover consulting costs to assist the organizations in their exploration.
