Teach for America (TFA) is an organization confronting educational inequity by recruiting high-performing college graduates to teach for at least two years in a low-income community. Today, more than 5,000 corps members teach more than 360,000 students in 2,450 schools across the country, and TFA’s alumni network numbers includes more than 64,000 people, many of whom continue to serve as teachers and leaders in the education field. The Lodestar Foundation has supported TFA’s work with grants for a number of years.
