One Hen Academy (“One Hen”) provides educators with resources to teach financial literacy, personal initiative, global awareness, and the value of giving back. America SCORES Boston (“Boston Scores”) works to reduce the opportunity gap for students in inner-city Boston, with a specific focus on soccer and out-of-school time enrichment activities. America SCORES—Boston Scores’ national affiliate—was an implementing partner of One Hen for several years before One Hen and Boston Scores decided to merge. By merging, the two organizations aimed to increase their impact in the youth-development field and become the premier after-school provider of experiential learning. Lodestar provided a grant to help cover the costs of the merger.
